Do Afghan Citizens Need a Visa for Dubai?

Yes. Afghanistan is not on the UAE's visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, so you cannot board a flight to Dubai without an approved e-visa. The visa is issued electronically as a PDF and linked to your passport number. Airlines check it at the departure airport and will refuse boarding without it.

The UAE government does not issue visit visas directly to individuals. Your application must be filed by a sponsor. For tourists, that sponsor is normally a GDRFA-registered travel agency such as Dubai E Visa Online. The agency submits your file, pays the government fee, and receives the approval on your behalf. Dubai Visa for Afghanistan Price

The Dubai visa for Afghanistan price depends on the visa duration and the number of entries. The total you pay has up to four parts:

• Government fee — paid to GDRFA. This is fixed and non-refundable once the application is submitted.
• Service fee — the agency's charge for sponsorship, filing and follow-up.

• Security deposit — some sponsors ask Afghan applicants for a refundable deposit, returned after you exit the UAE on time.

All prices are in US dollars, per person, and match our homepage and Dubai visa fees page. Your card issuer converts the amount to your local currency at its own rate. If an agent quotes you far below these figures, be careful. Government fees cannot be discounted, so an unusually cheap quote usually means hidden charges later or a fake visa. Extensions are priced separately: the 30 Day Inside A2A Visa Extension starts from $450, the 60 Day Inside A2A Visa Extension from $550, and the 90 Day Visa Extension from $750 per person. Multiple-entry 60-day visas and the 90-day leisure visa cannot be extended.

What Is Not Included in the Price

The visa price does not cover flights, hotel bookings, or the cost of extending your stay. It also does not cover overstay fines. Afghan citizens can apply for the standard short-term visit visas. Choose based on how long you plan to stay and whether you need to leave and re-enter the UAE.

30-Day Visit Visa

Visas Not Covered on This Page

A Dubai work visa is different. It is sponsored by a UAE employer, not a travel agency, and follows a separate process through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Eligibility Requirements for Afghan Applicants

To apply for a Dubai visa for Afghan citizens, you must meet these basic conditions:

• A machine-readable Afghan passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Handwritten passports are not accepted.

• A confirmed return or onward ticket.
• Proof of accommodation in the UAE — a hotel booking or a host's address.
• Applicants under 18 travelling without both parents may need a no-objection letter from the absent parent.

Afghan applicants living outside Afghanistan — for example in Pakistan, Iran, Turkey or India — can apply from their country of residence. You may be asked for a copy of your residence permit in that country in addition to your passport.

Documents Required for a Dubai Visa for Afghanistan

Upload clear colour scans. Blurred or cropped documents are the single most common reason an Afghan application is returned.

1. Passport bio page — full page, all four corners visible, valid for six months or more.
2. Passport-size photograph — white background, taken within the last six months, no glasses or head covering that hides the face outline.
3. Tazkira (Afghan national ID) — both sides. GDRFA frequently requests this for Afghan nationals.
4. Confirmed flight ticket — return or onward.
5. Hotel booking or host details — if staying with a UAE resident, their Emirates ID copy and tenancy contract.
6. Residence permit — only if applying from outside Afghanistan.
7. Bank statement — last three months, sometimes requested for 60-day visas.

You do not need to send your original passport anywhere. The visa is electronic. How to Apply for a Dubai Visa from Afghanistan Online

The whole process is online. Here is how it works with Dubai E Visa Online:

1. Choose your visa type on the application form and enter your travel dates.
2. Upload your documents — passport, photo, Tazkira, ticket and accommodation proof.
3. Receive a written quote showing the government fee and service fee separately. Pay online by card.
4. We submit to GDRFA under our own establishment card and send you the application reference number.
5. Receive your e-visa by email. Print it and carry it with your passport.

Processing Time for Afghan Passport Holders

Standard processing for 30-day and 60-day visas is three to four working days after GDRFA receives a complete file; the 7-day, 14-day and 48-hour options are typically decided in one to two days. Afghan applications are sometimes referred for additional security review, which can add several working days. We recommend applying at least two weeks before your travel date.

Express processing is not consistently available for Afghan passports. Any agency promising a "24-hour guaranteed" Dubai visa for Afghan citizens is making a promise it cannot keep. Approval and timing sit entirely with GDRFA.

Dubai Visa vs UAE Visa for Afghans

Searches for a UAE visa for Afghans and a Dubai visa for Afghanistan usually mean the same trip, but the issuing authority differs. A visa sponsored by a Dubai-based company is processed by GDRFA Dubai. A visa sponsored from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another emirate is processed by the federal Identity and Citizenship Authority (ICP). Both visas allow entry to all seven emirates.

Why Afghan Visa Applications Get Rejected

Rejections on Afghan passports are more common than average, and most are avoidable. The main reasons we see:

• Passport validity below six months or a non-machine-readable passport.
• Mismatched details between the passport, Tazkira and application form, especially name spellings.
• Previous overstay in the UAE with unpaid fines.
• Missing Tazkira when GDRFA has requested it.
• Unclear travel purpose — no hotel booking or host information.
• Female applicants under 25 travelling alone are sometimes asked for additional family documentation.

Extending Your Stay

Single-entry 30-day visas can be extended by up to 30 days and 60-day single-entry visas by up to two weeks, subject to GDRFA approval. Extension pricing starts from $450 per person.
