DUBAI VISA FOR NEPAL CITIZENS - COMPLETE GUIDE

A Dubai visa for Nepali passport holders must be approved before travel, and for Nepali applicants the approval is not automatic. There is no visa on arrival for Nepal, and visit visa applications on a Nepali passport are reviewed more strictly than most nationalities. This page gives you a straight answer on whether the Dubai visit visa is open for Nepali citizens right now, what it costs, the documents that actually get files approved, and how to apply online from Kathmandu or anywhere else.

Everything below applies to visit and tourist visas. Work visas follow a completely different route through the Nepal Department of Foreign Employment and a UAE employer, and are covered near the end.

Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for Dubai?

Yes. Nepal is not on the UAE's visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, and there is no free visa for Nepali passport holders. A Dubai visa for Nepali travellers is always a pre-approved e-visa. Every Nepali citizen needs a pre-approved e-visa before flying, whatever the purpose or length of the trip.

The UAE government does not issue visit visas directly to individuals. Your application is filed by a UAE-based sponsor — a resident relative, a hotel, an airline, or a GDRFA-registered travel agency such as Dubai E Visa Online. We file under our own establishment card, pay the government fee, and email you the approved visa.

Is the Dubai Visit Visa Open for Nepali Citizens?

Yes, as of 10 September 2026 — with conditions. Visit visa applications on Nepali passports are being accepted through licensed sponsors. There is no blanket suspension. What Nepali travellers experience as "the visa being closed" is a high rejection rate on weak files: no bank statement, no hotel booking, a young applicant with no travel history, or a stated purpose that does not match the documents.

Since 2021 the UAE has applied tighter scrutiny to Nepali visit visa applications because of past overstay and illegal-employment cases. In practice this means:

• A bank statement showing a stable balance is effectively required, not optional.
• A confirmed hotel booking or a UAE resident host with a valid tenancy contract is expected.
• A Police Clearance Certificate from Nepal Police, attested by Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu, is commonly requested by sponsors and improves approval odds.
• First-time travellers and applicants under 30 are reviewed more closely.

Two more things to know. If a file is unlikely to be approved through GDRFA Dubai, we may recommend a Sharjah-sponsored visa issued by ICP instead — it allows the same travel to Dubai. And Nepal's own Department of Immigration runs exit checks at Tribhuvan International Airport for passengers leaving on visit visas to Gulf countries, so carry your return ticket, hotel booking, bank statement and travel insurance in printed form.

Nepal to Dubai Visit Visa Price

The Dubai visa for Nepali applicants is priced by duration and entries: how long you want to stay and whether you need single or multiple entry. All prices are quoted in US dollars, per person. A 30-day single-entry tourist visa starts from $150.

These figures match our homepage and our Dubai visa fees page. Your card issuer converts the USD amount to Nepali rupees at its own rate on the day of payment.

Extensions are priced separately: the 30 Day Inside A2A Visa Extension starts from $450, the 60 Day Inside A2A Visa Extension from $550, and the 90 Day Visa Extension from $750 per person. Multiple-entry 60-day visas and the 90-day leisure visa cannot be extended.

What the Price Includes

• GDRFA government fee — fixed by the authority and non-refundable once submitted.
• Sponsorship and service fee — our charge for filing, follow-up and support. The "starting from" price covers both.

Dubai Visit Visa Requirements for Nepali Citizens

To be eligible for a Dubai visa for Nepali citizens through a sponsor, you need:

• A Nepali passport valid for at least six months from your planned entry date.
• No UAE immigration ban or unpaid overstay fines from a previous trip. Our page on the permanent immigration ban explains how to check.
• A confirmed return or onward ticket.
• Proof of accommodation — a hotel booking, or a host's details if staying with a UAE resident.
• A bank statement for the last three to six months with a stable balance. For Nepali applicants this is the single most important document after the passport.
• A clear purpose of visit that matches your documents — tourism with a hotel booking, or a family visit with the host's details.
• Applicants under 18 travelling without both parents may need a no-objection letter from the absent parent.

A machine-readable passport is required. Nepali e-passports and the older MRP passports are both accepted, but handwritten passports are not.

Documents Required for a Dubai Visit Visa from Nepal

Upload clear colour scans or phone photos. Blurred or cropped documents are the most common reason an application is sent back.

1. Passport bio page — the full page with all four corners visible.
2. Passport-size photograph — white background, taken within the last six months, face fully visible.
3. Confirmed flight ticket — return or onward.
4. Accommodation proof — hotel booking, or your host's Emirates ID copy and tenancy contract.
5. Bank statement — last three to six months, stamped by the bank.
6. Police Clearance Certificate — attested by Nepal MOFA and the UAE Embassy, where requested by the sponsor.
7. Citizenship certificate copy — sometimes requested alongside the passport.
8. Residence permit — only if you are applying from outside Nepal.

Dubai Visa for Nepali Passport Holders: Which Type to Choose

30-Day Tourist Visa

The standard choice for holidays, shopping and short family visits. Single entry suits a straight return home; multiple entry is useful for a side trip to Oman or a nearby country. Full rules on the 30-day Dubai visa page.

60-Day Visit Visa

Transit Visas

Visas Not Covered on This Page

A Dubai working visa for Nepali citizens is a different process entirely. It is sponsored by a UAE employer through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and on the Nepal side you need a labour permit from the Department of Foreign Employment before you can leave. How to Apply for a Dubai Visit Visa from Nepal Online

The process is fully online and takes about ten minutes. You can apply from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar or anywhere with an internet connection.

1. Choose your visa type and enter your travel dates on the application form.
2. Upload your documents — passport, photo, ticket and accommodation proof, bank statement and PCC where requested.
3. Receive a written quote in US dollars showing the government fee and service fee separately.
4. Pay online using an international Visa or Mastercard.
5. We submit to GDRFA under our establishment card and send you the application reference number.
6. Receive your e-visa by email. Print a copy and carry it with your passport.

Flydubai, Air Arabia, Himalaya Airlines and Nepal Airlines all require it on flights from Kathmandu, and without it you will be turned away at check-in.

Processing Time for Nepali Applicants

Standard processing for 30-day and 60-day visas is three to four working days after GDRFA receives a complete file. The 7-day, 14-day, 90-day and 48-hour options are typically decided in one to two days. Working days are Monday to Friday in the UAE.

Nepali applications are sometimes referred for additional review, which can add several days. Apply at least ten working days before departure. Approval and timing always rest with GDRFA, not with any agency.

Dubai Visa vs UAE Visa for Nepali Citizens

A UAE visa and a Dubai visa are the same kind of document with a different issuing authority. A visa sponsored by a Dubai-based company is issued by GDRFA Dubai. One sponsored from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another emirate is issued by the federal Identity and Citizenship Authority (ICP). Both allow entry to all seven emirates.

If you are landing at Sharjah on Air Arabia and the sponsor is Sharjah-based, the visa is issued by ICP; if you are landing at Dubai International, a GDRFA-issued visa keeps status checks and extensions in one system.

Why Nepali Dubai Visa Applications Get Rejected

Refusals of a Dubai visa for Nepali applicants are higher than average, and most trace back to one of these:

• Passport validity under six months at the date of travel.
• Name mismatch between the passport and the application form.
• Previous overstay in the UAE with fines still unpaid.
• Poor-quality scans where the passport number or photo is unreadable.
• Weak or missing bank statement — the most common reason by far.
• No accommodation proof or a host without a valid tenancy contract.
• Wrong visa type — applying for a tourist visa when the real purpose is job hunting.
