14 Day Business Visa
E-visa • Single Entry
If you are searching for a Dubai visa from China, start with some good news: most Chinese travellers do not need to apply for a visa at all. Holders of ordinary Chinese passports can generally enter the UAE without a prior visa. This guide shows who is covered, who still needs a visa, and how to apply for a Dubai visa online when you do. It is written for travellers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities, and for foreign passport holders who live in China.
Dubai E Visa Online is a private visa service. We are not a UAE government body, and approval always rests with UAE immigration.
Travellers who search for a Chinese passport holders Dubai visa are often surprised by the answer. For most people with an ordinary mainland Chinese passport, the answer is no. The UAE Consulate General in Shanghai states that ordinary Chinese passports have been exempt from a prior visa since 1 November 2016.
The free stay was first 30 days. In April 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the UAE and the Consulate General in Dubai announced a longer stay: up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The announcement applies to ordinary passports valid for at least six months.
Please confirm the current rule with UAE immigration (ICP) or your airline before you book. Entry rules can change, and the border officer makes the final decision.
The visa-free rule is for ordinary passports issued in mainland China. It does not automatically cover every passport linked to China. Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan passports follow their own rules, and diplomatic or official passports are handled separately. Check your exact passport type before you decide not to apply.
Visa-free does not mean check-free. You still go through UAE immigration on arrival, so keep your passport, hotel or host details and return ticket easy to reach.
Many Chinese visitors will never need our service. If your trip is short and your passport is valid, you may simply travel. We would rather tell you that than sell you a visa you do not need.
For visa-free entry, plan around these basics:
Airlines may check your documents before boarding. If the check-in desk in Shanghai or Beijing asks for proof of your stay, a printed hotel booking and ticket can help.
A visa is still useful in a few real situations:
Our China application page lists 30, 60 and 90 day options, a 2-year freelancer visa and several extensions. For long stays, read our guide to the Dubai 2 year visa. We cannot guarantee approval for any application.
Business travellers should think about purpose as well as length. A short trip for meetings or a trade fair is a visit. Signing an employment contract or working for a UAE company is different and needs the correct work permit. If you are unsure which side your trip falls on, ask before you fly, not at the airport.
If you do need a visa, these are the tourist options shown on our China page. The details come from our application page at the time of writing. They can change, so confirm them at checkout.
| Option | Entry | Stay | Visa validity | Listed processing time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | Single | 7 days | 60 days | 1–2 days |
| 30 Day Single | Single | 30 days | 60 days | 3–4 days |
| 30 Day Multiple | Multiple | 30 days | 60 days | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Single | Single | 60 days | 60 days | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Multiple | Multiple | 60 days | 60 days | 3–4 days |
| 90 Day Leisure | Single | 90 days | 60 days | 1–2 days |
We also list a 14-day business visa and 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas. Check first whether your passport already allows visa-free entry or transit before you pay for one of these.
A single-entry visa covers one trip. Once you leave the UAE, the visa is used. A multiple-entry visa lets you leave and come back within its validity, for example if you plan a side trip and then return to the UAE.
A 30 day Dubai visa for Chinese citizens fits a normal holiday or family visit. A 60 day Dubai visa for Chinese citizens suits a long break or a longer stay with relatives. Pick the shortest option that covers your plan, because a shorter stay is easier to manage.
Two numbers matter. Stay is how many days you may remain in the UAE. Visa validity is the window in which you must enter. On our page, a 30-day single-entry visa shows 30 days of stay and 60 days of visa validity. That means you must enter within the 60-day window, then stay up to 30 days.
Some options can be extended. Our page lists 30-day and 60-day extensions for people already inside the UAE. Not every visa type can be extended, and extension fees are separate from your first visa price.
Do not count on a grace period after your stay ends. The current overstay fine is AED 50 for each day, starting from the first day of overstay.
Once you know you need a visa, the requirements are simple. Eligibility starts with your passport nationality, not just the city where you live. Your passport needs at least six months of validity and at least four blank pages. You also need clear colour images of your documents and your trip details.
Approval rests with UAE immigration, and reasons for a refusal are rarely shared. That is why a complete, accurate application matters more than speed.
Keep these ready before you start:
No degree certificate appears in this standard list. If that question worries you, see our guide to a UAE visa without a degree certificate.
If you are a foreign national living in China, the starting point is your own passport, not your Chinese residence. A Chinese residence permit does not turn a foreign passport into a Chinese one. Some travellers qualify for entry through other documents. For example, we have a guide for US green card holders.
Search terms vary. Some people type Dubai visa for Chinese residents to mean people living in China, and others mean Chinese nationals living abroad. This page covers people who live in China and Chinese passport holders alike.
Residence-based rules also exist for other countries. Our guide to the Dubai visa for Qatar residents shows how that works elsewhere.
Foreign residents in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu and other cities should first check whether their own passport allows visa-free entry. If it does not, you can apply with us. On the form, choose your country of citizenship, then choose China as the country where you live.
Keep your China residence permit nearby. We do not list it as a standard upload, but it can help if immigration asks where you live. Also check that your residence permit will not expire before you return to China.
Some families visit Dubai first to plan a longer move. If a spouse has questions about working in the UAE later, our guide on working in the UAE with a husband's visa explains the basics.
For a foreign passport holder who lives in China, the checklist is short:
If your passport is close to expiry, renew it first. A renewal in China may take time, so start early.
If you need a visa, do not leave it to the last week. Most options on our page show 3–4 days of listed processing time, and mistakes cause delays. The steps below take about the same effort for Chinese passport holders and for foreign residents in China.
You do not visit an office for an e-visa, so you can apply from home.
Many delays start with the upload step. Take the passport photo in good light, with all four corners visible. Do not use filters. Save files in a common format and keep them small enough to upload.
Spell your name in pinyin exactly as the passport bio page shows it. Mixing name order or using Chinese characters in the form is a common source of mismatches.
After approval, check that your visa is genuine. Our guide explains how to check if a Dubai visa is original or fake.
Visa-free entry has no visa fee. If you need a visa, the price shown on our application page includes the UAE government charge plus our service fee for acting as your sponsor. Prices vary by visa type, nationality and the details of your application.
The final amount appears before you pay. Please read it carefully. Express processing and extensions have their own charges, and these are different from the base price. We do not present any estimate as an official government fee.
When you compare quotes, look at what each price covers. A fair Dubai visa price for Chinese citizens should show the government charge and the service fee in plain terms. It should also say whether extras such as express handling cost more.
Before paying anything, ask one simple question: do I need a visa at all? If your passport qualifies for visa-free entry and your stay is within the limit, you may not.
Listed processing times on our China page are working-day estimates. Most 30-day and 60-day options show 3–4 days. The 7-day, 90-day leisure and 48-hour transit options show 1–2 days. The 96-hour transit option shows 4–5 days, and the 2-year freelancer visa shows 15–30 days.
These are not guarantees. As a simple rule, apply at least a week before you plan to fly, and allow more time around Chinese public holidays when many people travel. If a document needs to be corrected, that extra week is what keeps your trip on track.
Weekends, UAE public holidays and incomplete documents can add time. The UAE is four hours behind China, so a late-evening submission in Beijing may be seen the next working morning in the UAE.
If your travel date is close, you can choose express processing at checkout where it is offered for your visa type. It costs extra and is separate from the regular fee. Express handling does not guarantee approval or a fixed time. See our express visa page for details.
You can track your application any time with the application ID you received. Open the Dubai visa status page and enter it. We also send updates by email, so use an address you check often and look in your spam folder.
If your status has not changed after the listed time, contact our support team and keep your application ID ready.
Where you start your trip changes little about the visa itself. It changes your planning. The UAE Consulate General in Shanghai exists for questions about UAE entry rules, and travellers in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu can check the same rules online. We do not make claims about flights or routes from any city.
Plan around Chinese travel peaks. Golden Week in October and the Spring Festival period are busy times. Applications made close to those dates leave little room to fix mistakes.
