14 Day Business Visa
E-visa • Single Entry
Swiss nationals are eligible for a free visa on arrival in the UAE, so most short trips from Switzerland do not need a paid visa. That shapes this whole page. Read the entry rules first, then decide whether your trip falls outside them. If it does, you can apply for a Dubai visa online with our service. A Dubai visa for Swiss citizens is rarely needed for a standard holiday, but it matters for some travelers, and we explain which ones below.
This page is written for three groups:
Your passport decides your entry route. Your address does not.
Dubai E Visa Online is a private application service. It is not part of any government body, and UAE immigration authorities make every entry and visa decision. Nothing on this page guarantees approval, entry or timing.
Start with the passport you will travel on. Then match your situation to the table.
| Your situation | What it means | Sensible next step |
|---|---|---|
| Swiss citizen, short tourism or business visit | Eligible for a free visa on arrival, per Swiss government guidance | Check entry conditions. A paid visa is probably unnecessary. |
| Swiss citizen planning a longer stay | Beyond the 90-day-in-180 allowance | Ask UAE authorities about options before you travel. |
| Swiss citizen traveling to work | Visa-free entry covers short visits, not employment | Get official guidance on work permits. |
| Foreign passport holder living in Switzerland | Your own passport sets the rule | Check the rule for that nationality. |
| Dual national | You enter on one passport | Use the same passport for the ticket and entry. |
| Mixed-passport family | Each person has a separate rule | Check every traveler individually. |
Citizenship and residence are different things. A Swiss citizen who lives in Zurich holds a Swiss passport. A British or Indian national who lives in Geneva does not become Swiss because of a residence permit. We use “Swiss citizens” and “Switzerland residents” for these two groups, and we keep them apart throughout.
A paid pre-arranged visa makes sense for a small set of cases. One is a family member with a different passport. Another is a trip that falls outside visa-free entry, such as a longer stay. We do not recommend paying for something you can receive free at the airport.
The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) publishes a UAE business guide for Swiss travelers. Its 2025 edition says Swiss nationals can obtain a free UAE visa on arrival. It gives the allowed stay as up to 90 days within a 180-day period. It also says the passport needs at least six months’ validity at entry and that a return ticket may be requested on arrival.
The 180-day window matters. Days from earlier trips can count toward your 90, so a frequent traveler should add them up before booking. Other legal sources describe the same counting method.
These are the government-side points we could verify. Dubai visa requirements for Swiss citizens on a visa-on-arrival entry are therefore short: a valid passport and a plan to leave within the permitted stay. Rules can change, so verify before you fly. Good sources are:
We did not find an official source that adds hotel, funds or insurance conditions for Swiss entry. We therefore do not list them as government requirements.
Many people live in Switzerland without being Swiss. For them, the question “Do I need a visa?” has nothing to do with Swiss rules. The answer depends on the passport in their hand.
A permit holder’s position is easy to mix up. A Swiss B or C permit proves you may live in Switzerland. It does not give you the Swiss citizen’s UAE entry rights. If you hold a different passport, you may find that you are exempt, that you can get a visa on arrival, or that you need a visa in advance. That depends on your nationality, so check the rule for your own passport first.
For this group, Dubai visa requirements for Switzerland residents are really the requirements for each nationality. A Swiss residence permit may be useful supporting paperwork. It does not replace the nationality rule.
An expat in Basel, Bern or Lausanne has the same starting point. Look up the UAE rule for your passport. If a visa is required, apply with that passport and enter your nationality exactly as printed in it.
People often ask about a Dubai visa for Swiss residents as if it were one product. It is not. The phrase covers Swiss citizens, who are visa-exempt for short visits, and foreign nationals, who each follow their own rule. The same applies to anyone searching for a Dubai visa for foreign residents in Switzerland: the passport decides, and the address does not.
Two practical tips help here:
If your trip falls outside visa-free entry, you may need one of our products. A Dubai tourist visa for Swiss citizens is one of several options. Our Dubai visa types guide explains the categories in general. The live Switzerland page currently lists these:
| Product | Entry | Stay | Visa validity | Processing estimate | Extendable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 Day Business | Single | 14 days | 58 days | 1–2 days | Up to 30 days |
| 7 Day Short | Single | 7 days | 60 days | 1–2 days | Yes |
| 30 Day Single | Single | 30 days | 60 days | 3–4 days | Up to 30 days |
| 30 Day Multiple | Multiple | 30 days | 60 days | 3–4 days | Up to 30 days |
| 60 Day Single | Single | 60 days | 60 days | 3–4 days | Up to 2 weeks |
| 60 Day Multiple | Multiple | 60 days | 60 days | 3–4 days | Not extendable |
| 90 Day Leisure | Single | 90 days | 60 days | 1–2 days | Not extendable |
| 48 Hour Transit | Single | 48 hours | 30 days | 1–2 days | Not extendable |
| 96 Hour Transit | Single | 96 hours | 30 days | 4–5 days | Not extendable |
Source: the live product cards. Processing times are estimates, not promises. The card also lists visa extensions and a two-year freelancer visa, which are separate categories with their own eligibility. A business visa does not by itself allow you to work in the UAE.
Validity, stay and entry type are three different things, and they are easy to confuse:
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Visa validity | The window in which you may use the visa to enter |
| Permitted stay | How long you may remain after entering |
| Entry type | Single or multiple entries during the validity |
| Processing time | How long a decision may take |
A visa that is valid for 60 days does not let you stay for 60 days unless the stay also says so. Read the stay on your approved visa.
A 30 day Dubai visa for Swiss citizens would only make sense for someone who needs a pre-arranged visa and plans about a month. Compare this with the free route first. A Swiss traveler staying 30 days can usually rely on the visa-on-arrival allowance. The paid 30-day cards are more relevant to a non-Swiss relative or colleague traveling alongside.
The same logic applies to a 60 day Dubai visa for Swiss citizens. The 60-day stay is within what a Swiss passport already receives on arrival. The 90-day leisure card offers a stay that equals the free allowance, so compare carefully before paying. If you plan more than 90 days within 180, a longer stay is outside the visa-on-arrival rule, and you should ask the UAE authorities before booking.
Documents come from two places, and mixing them up causes trouble.
Government side. For a visa-on-arrival entry, the FDFA guide points to a passport with six months’ validity and notes that a return ticket may be asked for. That is all we could confirm.
Our application form. If you use our service, the live page lists these items:
The last two are service requirements, not UAE government rules. Scan the full photo page in one frame, with no fingers, glare or paper covering anything. Names and dates should match the passport exactly.
If you recently renewed your Swiss passport, use the new number everywhere. If you hold two passports, apply with the one you will fly on.
Once you know a visa is needed, the steps are short. Our Dubai visa in three easy steps guide gives the quick version. Here is the full path:
Anyone who wants a Dubai visa online from Switzerland will find the process works from a phone or computer anywhere. You do not need to visit a Swiss office for it. You do not need a Swiss embassy either. UAE authorities may still ask for extra details on some cases.
Families from Switzerland often travel on different passports. A Swiss parent may hold a Swiss passport while a partner holds another. Each person needs their own check. Enter each traveler’s own passport details. Ask support how the form handles children before you submit, because we have not verified a separate child rule.
Applying together does not make the decisions linked. One application may be approved while another is delayed, so avoid non-refundable bookings until every visa is confirmed.
An Dubai visa application online Switzerland can be filled in during a single sitting. Having the passport files ready speeds it up. People applying Dubai visa application for Swiss citizens style forms often misread which passport applies; if your partner needs a visa, your own Swiss passport does not help them.
If you do need a pre-arranged visa, the Dubai visa cost from Switzerland depends on the product, the duration, the entry type and the processing option. Our Dubai visa fees guide explains the factors. The live page states that its prices include UAE government charges and the service fee. It does not split the two, so we do not present a government figure.
The Dubai visa price for Swiss citizens below comes from the live product cards, which say “starting from” per person. AED and CHF amounts are approximate conversions. We used 3.6725 AED per USD, and about 0.8266 CHF per USD, an ECB-based rate reported for 2 October 2026. Your card issuer’s rate and fees will differ.
| Visa type | Price (USD) | Price (AED) | Price (CHF) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | $125 | AED 459 | CHF 103 |
| 14 Day Business | $138 | AED 507 | CHF 114 |
| 30 Day Single | $154 | AED 566 | CHF 127 |
| 30 Day Multiple | $450 | AED 1,653 | CHF 372 |
| 60 Day Single | $421 | AED 1,546 | CHF 348 |
| 60 Day Multiple | $700 | AED 2,571 | CHF 579 |
| 90 Day Leisure | $850 | AED 3,122 | CHF 703 |
| 48 Hour Transit | $121 | AED 444 | CHF 100 |
| 96 Hour Transit | $137 | AED 503 | CHF 113 |
The prices shown above are approximate and may vary depending on the visa type, nationality, processing time, and other applicable factors. The final fee will be confirmed at the time of application.
Before you pay, check that the amount matches the product you chose, and check the currency. If a free visa on arrival covers your trip, you do not need to pay anything.
Processing estimates on the live cards range from 1–2 days for the shortest products to 4–5 days for the 96-hour transit. The 30- and 60-day tourist cards show 3–4 days. These are estimates. Decisions can take longer if the authorities request more checks or if details do not match your passport.
Plan with a buffer. Do not book non-refundable flights until the visa is approved. If you are using the free visa on arrival, none of this applies, because there is nothing to process before you travel.
If time is short, see our express Dubai visa page for current options and conditions. Our Dubai visa express services guide explains how faster handling works. Faster handling does not mean guaranteed approval or a fixed hour, and it can cost more. A Swiss citizen with a standard short trip should not need it.
After you submit, use our Dubai visa status page to follow progress. Keep your application reference and passport number handy. If you applied for several travelers, track each person separately. If nothing changes after the estimated window, contact support with your reference.
You will often see a Swiss passport Dubai visa mentioned in status questions, so be clear about which passport your application used. Mismatched details are a common reason for delays.
No one can promise approval. A Dubai visit visa from Switzerland application can be delayed or refused, usually for reasons that careful preparation reduces but cannot remove:
Our guide to common reasons for Dubai visa rejection goes into more detail. If an application is refused, find out what went wrong and fix it before you reapply. Ask support whether a new fee applies. A refusal for a non-Swiss relative does not affect a Swiss citizen’s own visa-free entry. They are separate rules for separate passports.
Extensions are conditional. Whether you can extend depends on the entry you hold, the product, and the rules in force when you ask. Read our guide to the Dubai visa extension procedure before you plan around one. We did not verify how a visa-on-arrival stay can be extended, so ask the UAE authorities or your airline first.
Overstaying can lead to fines or other penalties, and the amounts change over time. Do not rely on an old “grace period” you read online. Check the current rule before you travel. For a Swiss citizen, the safest approach is to count your days within the 180-day window and leave on time.
Some Swiss travelers only pass through Dubai on the way to another country. Whether a transit visa is needed depends on your nationality, itinerary, airline, airport, transit time and whether you leave the airport. Because Swiss citizens are eligible for visa-free entry, many will not need a separate transit product, but confirm with your airline. Our Dubai transit visa laws guide explains the general picture. We do not quote hour-based rules here.
If you travel on a non-Swiss passport, the transit answer may differ. Look it up for that passport.
