14 Day Business Visa

Spanish travelers have one of the easiest starting positions for the UAE. A Dubai visa for Spain citizens is often not needed for a tourist trip, because Spanish passport holders can generally receive entry permission on arrival. That surprises many people who assume every traveler must apply first.
Still, plenty of Spanish citizens do look for an online visa. Some have used up their allowed days. Some want a pre-arranged document before boarding. Others are Spanish passport holders living in London, New York or Tokyo, planning a trip from abroad, or traveling with relatives who hold different passports. This page explains which situation is yours and how to apply online when it makes sense.
DubaiEvisaOnline is a private online visa service, not a UAE government website.
Published guidance is consistent for Spanish nationals: tourists don't need to apply for a visa in advance, and the maximum stay is 90 days within a 180-day period. Emirates describes the arrival permit as a multiple-entry 90-day visit visa, valid for six months from issue, for a total stay of 90 days.
Before you fly, have these ready:
If your passport is near the six-month limit, renew it first. Spanish nationals abroad can usually arrange this through their nearest Spanish embassy or consulate, but allow time for it.
Entry rules can change. Treat this as planning information and confirm before departure. To see which options match your passport, you can start a Dubai visa application.
Even with visa-free arrival, applying online makes sense in these cases:
| Situation | Typical route | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Spanish passport, tourism, up to 90 days | Entry on arrival | Reported as free for eligible nationals |
| Spanish passport, 90 days already used | Pre-arranged visit visa | Apply before travel |
| Spanish citizen living in UK, US or Japan | Same as above | Your Spanish passport decides, not your country of residence |
| Traveling with non-Spanish passport holders | Visa check per person | Each traveler is assessed on their own passport |
| Tight travel date | Faster processing option | See the Dubai express visa |
Our guide to Dubai visa types explains the categories in more detail.
A tourist or visit visa is meant for holidays, visiting family and friends, and similar short trips. It does not permit employment or running local business operations. Those activities require different authorization.
Some Spanish travelers attend short conferences, exhibitions or meetings. If your plans go beyond simple attendance, check the correct category before you travel. Our tourist visa guidelines explain what a tourist entry allows. Transit passengers should also confirm whether their connection needs any permission, since airport, layover length and passport all matter.
Many Spaniards live and work outside Spain, and some plan Dubai trips from where they are based. The key rule is simple: your Spanish passport determines your UAE entry category, not your country of residence. A UK, US or Japanese residence permit does not add or remove a UAE requirement for a Spanish citizen.
Spanish citizens in the UK. If you live in London or elsewhere in Britain, prepare the same items as anyone traveling on a Spanish passport: six months' validity, onward ticket and accommodation details. Also check that your UK residence status remains valid for your return journey. That part is governed by UK rules, so confirm it with official UK sources.
Spanish citizens in the US. If you are based in New York or another US city, the UAE rule is unchanged. Before you go, confirm that your US immigration status, visa or work authorization allows you to leave and re-enter the country. Some visa holders need supporting documents when returning.
Spanish citizens in Japan. If you live in Tokyo or elsewhere in Japan, check your Japanese residence card validity and any re-entry requirements before departing. Your Spanish passport handles the UAE side.
For all three groups:
If you have used your allowance or want a pre-arranged visa, you can apply from wherever you live. No trip to Spain is needed.
For a pre-arranged visa, typical requirements include:
Upload only what the application form requests, since requirements vary by visa type. Blurry scans and mismatched details are common causes of delays. Our list of common reasons for Dubai visa rejection shows what to avoid.
The process works the same from Madrid, Barcelona, London, New York or Tokyo. Submit early, and avoid leaving it to the last few days before departure.
Entry on arrival for eligible Spanish passport holders is reported as free in published guidance. For a pre-arranged visa, the fee depends on the visa type, length of stay, number of entries and processing speed. The amount is shown during the application before you pay. Processing times also vary, so don't assume a fixed timeline. Approval rests with the UAE authorities and is never guaranteed.
These terms are often mixed up:
Emirates' guidance, for instance, describes a permit valid for six months that allows a total stay of 90 days. Those two numbers are not interchangeable. Always read the details on your approved document.
Madrid is a common departure point for Spanish travelers. Emirates operates nonstop flights from Madrid-Barajas, and schedule data puts the journey at roughly seven hours. There is no need to visit a consulate to apply for a visa. Check your passport before booking, and if you are renewing it, wait for the new document before submitting your application.
Barcelona travelers can also find Emirates service between Barcelona-El Prat and Dubai, though schedules change by season, so confirm with the airline. The visa logic matches Madrid. If a companion holds a non-Spanish passport, check their requirement separately. Should an application not go your way, read what to do after a visa rejection.
Airlines can refuse boarding if paperwork looks incomplete, so check their rules before you go.
