14 Day Business Visa

Malian passport holders need an approved visa before they fly to the UAE, and visa on arrival is not available. If you want to apply for a Dubai visa online, this page explains the whole process for a Dubai visa from Mali. It covers who can apply, which options exist, what to prepare, how fees and processing work, and what to check before you fly.
This guide is written for travellers in Bamako, Sikasso, Ségou, Kayes and other Malian towns. It also covers Malians living abroad and foreigners living in Mali. We are a visa application service, not the UAE government. The UAE immigration authorities make every approval decision, and rules can change, so confirm current entry requirements before you buy non-refundable tickets.
Yes. Common visa-requirement references list Mali as a "visa required" nationality for the UAE. Mali is not on the UAE's visa-free or visa-on-arrival lists. This applies to tourism, family visits and short business trips.
Airlines usually check travel documents before boarding. A missing visa can stop your trip at check-in in Bamako or at a connecting airport. Approval is also not the same as entry. UAE officers can still ask questions at the border, so carry your return ticket and your hotel or host details.
Visa rules follow the passport you hold. They do not follow the country where you live. This matters because people living in Mali include Malian nationals, foreign workers and families with more than one nationality.
Eligibility depends on passport nationality, current residence and travel circumstances. Living in Mali does not create a special visa route.
Some travellers hope that a visa or residence permit from another country changes the rule. Do not assume this. Plan to apply in advance with your Malian passport. If you think a special rule applies to you, contact support before you pay for flights.
Most Malian visitors apply for a tourist visa. Providers also call it a visit visa. The options usually shown are 30-day and 60-day stays, plus short transit permits of 48 or 96 hours. Entry type, price and availability can change, so confirm them on the application page when you apply.
| Option | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 30-day tourist visa | Holidays, family visits, short business trips | The usual choice for short trips |
| 60-day tourist visa | Longer family visits or extended trips | Costs more, so only choose it if you need the time |
| 48 or 96-hour transit visa | Connecting through the UAE | For layovers only; check your ticket |
A tourist visa does not let you work, study or live in the UAE. Those need separate sponsored permits. For a deeper comparison, read our guide to Dubai visa types.
This option suits a holiday, a family visit or a short trip to meet suppliers. Your stay is counted from the day you enter the UAE, not the day the visa is issued. Choose the shortest stay that covers your trip, and add a buffer day in case a flight is delayed.
A 60-day stay suits longer family visits or trips that combine several purposes. It is not "better" if you only need ten days. The same overstay rules apply to every option, so choose the length you will actually use.
In most cases, no. "Tourist visa" and "visit visa" describe the same short-stay entry permit, and the wording changes by provider. Both are for short stays only. If you plan to move to Dubai for a job, your employer must sponsor a different permit.
Requirements can change, and some applications need extra documents. A good starting list looks like this:
Prepare these before you open the form. It saves time and avoids rejections caused by missing files.
Here is what each document needs, with notes for Malian applicants.
Many Malian documents are in French. If a supporting document is not in English, ask support whether a translation is needed. Our documents checklist lists these items in more detail.
If you live in Mali on a foreign passport, your requirements follow that passport, not your Malian residence. Keep your Mali residence card or permit with you. Some airlines ask to see it to confirm you can return to Mali. Make sure your right to return stays valid for the whole trip.
The visa is only one part of entry. Check these items too:
Health and airline rules are separate from the visa. We cannot waive them.
The process is fully online. You do not need to visit a UAE office in Bamako. The same steps apply wherever you live in Mali.
Start on the Dubai visa application page, and keep a digital and a printed copy of the final visa.
Many applicants use a phone. Take passport photos in good light, place the passport flat, and avoid shadows or glare. If your connection is weak, upload files one at a time and save a copy of each. Do not submit until every file opens correctly. If your bank blocks international online payments, ask it to enable them before checkout.
Whether you are in Bamako, Sikasso, Ségou or Kayes, the application is identical. The city only affects your trip. If you live outside Bamako, plan how you will reach the airport in good time. Keep your visa printed, in case your phone battery fails before check-in. Applicants in Bamako often have the easiest access to airline offices for ticket questions. If you live elsewhere, call the airline early.
We do not quote a fixed fee here because prices change. The total you see before payment can vary by visa type, nationality and application requirements. Part of the price covers government charges and part covers the service. Ask support if the breakdown is not clear.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Stay length | A 60-day stay usually costs more than 30 days |
| Entry type | Single and multiple entry can be priced differently |
| Speed | Express handling normally costs extra |
| Number of travellers | Each traveller, including children, needs a visa |
Our visa fee guide explains how these charges are usually built up.
The visa is not your only cost. Think about the passport renewal if yours expires soon, the yellow fever vaccination and certificate, and flights and accommodation. Also plan for any translation you may need.
Overstaying adds a daily fine of AED 50 from the first day of overstay. Extension charges vary, so do not treat any quoted extension figure as fixed. Check the current amount before you apply.
Compare like with like. A very low price may leave out government charges or speed options. Pay only through the checkout on the site you applied on, and keep your receipt. Check the refund policy before paying, because processing may begin as soon as you submit.
Processing times vary, and no one can guarantee a date. Time depends on the season, how busy the system is, document quality, and UAE weekends and public holidays. Mistakes slow things down the most.
A sensible plan:
Our processing time guide explains what usually causes delays.
Your visa has two dates that people often mix up. Validity is the deadline for entering the UAE. Permitted stay is how many days you may remain after you enter. A 30-day stay does not mean 30 days of validity. Read both on your visa copy.
Tourist visa holders should not assume an automatic grace period. Overstay fines are AED 50 per day from the first day of overstay, and they keep building until you leave or fix your status. Overstaying can also complicate future applications.
Routes and schedules between Mali and the UAE change, so leave at least one buffer day before your visa stay ends. Extensions may be possible in some cases, but they are not automatic. Apply before expiry, not after. Read our overstay and extension guide before you decide.
After you submit, keep your application details safe. You can follow progress on the Dubai visa status page. If the status does not change for longer than you expected, contact support rather than submitting a second application. Duplicate applications can cause confusion. Do not book non-refundable travel until your approved visa arrives and you have checked every detail.
If your flight date is close, look at express Dubai visa options. Express handling is meant to speed up processing. It does not guarantee approval or a fixed delivery time. Incomplete or unclear documents slow down express applications too, so check every file before you submit.
Bamako is the capital and the main hub for international air travel in Mali. Applicants in Sikasso, Ségou, Kayes and other regions follow the same online process. The only difference is the journey to the airport. If you travel to Bamako for your flight, arrive a day early where possible, and carry printed copies of your visa and ticket.
Searches such as Malian passport holders Dubai visa usually come from travellers who want one clear answer. The answer is the same in every Malian city: a Malian passport needs an advance visa.
Expats should check their own passport first. Many nationalities do not need an advance visa for the UAE, and that depends on the passport, not on living in Mali. If your passport does need a visa, apply using that passport. Business travellers should keep an employer letter and meeting details available, in case they are asked.
Long-term foreign residents, including spouses and family members, should also apply under their passport nationality. Keep your Mali residence documents with you. Confirm with your airline that you can return to Mali after your trip. This part is about your return, not about the UAE visa itself.
After your visa arrives, finish your preparation:
We do not list airlines or routes because they change often. Ask your airline about connections, and arrive early at the airport for document checks. Our travel checklist can help you pack the right papers.
Many problems come from small input errors. Read our visa rejection guide to learn how to avoid them, then start your application when your documents are ready.
