14 Day Business Visa

Planning a trip from Ireland? This page explains the Dubai visa for Irish citizens in plain terms: when you can simply fly and get your entry on arrival, when a pre-arranged visa makes more sense, and how to apply online from Ireland if you need one. DubaiEvisaOnline is a private online visa service, not a UAE government authority.
For most short trips, no advance visa is needed. The UAE Embassy in Dublin states that holders of a full Irish passport do not need advance visa arrangements and can receive a free visit visa on arrival. Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs gives the same guidance: a free 30-day visa waiver on arrival.
You may see other websites quoting 90 days for Irish travellers. Rules for several European nationalities were updated in recent years, so sources do not always agree. For Irish passports, we follow the UAE Embassy in Dublin and the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, and we recommend confirming with your airline before you fly.
So when does an Irish traveller actually apply online? Typically when you plan to stay beyond 30 days, want your entry approved before leaving home, or are combining Dubai with other UAE travel and prefer a pre-arranged visa on file. Our Dubai visa application page lists the options available.
UAE immigration officers keep discretion to refuse entry in line with UAE law, so a visa or waiver is never a guarantee of entry. Irish travellers should also check medicines before packing. Items sold over the counter or by prescription in Ireland, such as codeine, can be controlled in the UAE.
Living in Ireland does not decide your requirements. Your passport does. A non-Irish national living in Ireland should check the rules for their own passport. Dual nationals enter on whichever passport they present.
This suits a holiday, a visit to family or friends, or a short business meeting. You present your passport at Dubai immigration and receive the visit visa. The permitted stay is 30 days. If you want longer, the Embassy says you can ask immigration before the 30 days end, and extensions are chargeable.
Irish citizens can also apply for a visit visa in advance. This route is useful if you want approval confirmed before departure or plan a stay that doesn't fit the 30-day window. Our guide to Dubai visa types explains how the categories differ, and our tourist visa guidelines cover what a visit visa allows.
A tourist or visit visa is for leisure, family visits and short business discussions. It does not permit employment in the UAE, which needs a separate work authorisation.
For travel on arrival, bring your full Irish passport and keep return or onward flight details and accommodation information ready, as airlines and immigration may ask for them. For an online application, you will usually be asked for:
The exact list is shown during the application, so follow the form rather than assuming. Mismatched names or low-quality scans are among the usual causes of problems; our article on common reasons for Dubai visa rejection goes through them.
Applying online also saves a trip to an embassy. The UAE Embassy in Dublin does not issue tourist visas for ordinary passport holders, so there is no in-person visa desk for tourists in Ireland.
The visa on arrival is free for Irish citizens, so there is no visa fee if you travel within the 30-day allowance. Costs arise if you extend your stay or choose a pre-arranged visa. Pre-arranged visa fees depend on the visa type, stay length and processing option, and the final amount is displayed on the application page before you pay. We don't quote a flat price here because it would go out of date.
These three terms are often mixed up, so here is the difference:
Processing time for a pre-arranged visa depends on the option chosen and on UAE immigration review, and decisions are never guaranteed. If you are travelling soon, look at the Dubai express visa option. After applying, you can follow progress on the Dubai visa status page, and our guide to checking visa status online explains the steps.
Dublin is the main departure point for Irish travellers heading to Dubai. Emirates operates nonstop flights from Dublin Airport to Dubai International, with a scheduled flight time of around seven and a half hours. Schedules change by season, so confirm current times on the airline's site.
If you apply for a Dubai visa from Dublin or anywhere else in Ireland, the process is entirely online. Travellers from Cork, Shannon or Knock usually reach Dubai by connecting through Dublin or another European hub, so check your full itinerary and make sure your passport meets the six-month rule for every leg.
Irish holidaymakers often combine Dubai with a stopover or a longer UAE trip, and Irish families travel to visit relatives living in the UAE. In both cases, planning the length of stay first tells you whether the free 30 days will be enough or a pre-arranged visa is the better fit.
Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs has been advising against non-essential travel to the UAE because of the regional security situation, and airspace and flight schedules in the Gulf have been affected at times. This advice can change quickly. Read the latest UAE guidance on ireland.ie and speak to your airline and travel insurer before paying for flights or a visa.
