14 Day Business Visa
E-visa • Single Entry
Most Hong Kong travellers do not need to buy a visa for a short trip to the UAE. HKSAR passport holders can currently enter visa-free for up to 30 days, according to the Hong Kong Immigration Department's visa-free list, which was updated in September 2026. A paid visa only becomes relevant if you want a longer stay or want your arrangements settled before you fly. In that case you can apply for a Dubai visa online through Dubai E Visa Online.
This guide explains who needs what. It covers HKSAR passport holders, people who live in Hong Kong on other passports, and the pre-arranged visa products listed for Hong Kong applicants. It also covers documents, prices in USD, AED and Hong Kong dollars, and processing estimates. If you are planning a short holiday and your passport qualifies, read the entry section first. For you, a Dubai tourist visa from Hong Kong may be unnecessary.
A note on who we are: Dubai E Visa Online is a private travel agency. We are not affiliated with GDRFA, ICP or any UAE embassy, and approval always rests with UAE immigration. Nothing here guarantees approval, processing speed or entry.
For ordinary HKSAR passports, a visa does not need to be arranged in advance. The UAE Consulate General in Hong Kong states that HKSAR passport holders are granted a visit visa for 30 days on arrival. The consulate says no application is needed before travel. The Hong Kong government has described the arrangement as visa-free access since 15 May 2025. The Immigration Department's list, updated on 15 September 2026, shows the UAE at 30 days.
Several points sit around that rule:
Your passport decides the rule, not your address. A person living in Hong Kong who holds a foreign passport is not an HKSAR passport holder. An HKSAR passport holder living abroad still travels on an HKSAR passport. In short, for Hong Kong passport holders Dubai visa rules start with visa-free entry, and a pre-arranged visa is a separate choice.
The UAE Consulate General's guidance for HKSAR passport holders is short:
These are UAE entry rules, not rules set by Dubai E Visa Online. Carry your passport and your return ticket, plus the address of your stay in case you are asked.
If you want to stay longer than the visa-free period, the consulate says to apply to the local General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) three days before your stay ends. It describes this as a chargeable service. Do not assume an extension will be granted. Overstay rules and fines change, so check current figures with official UAE sources rather than older articles.
Living in Hong Kong does not make someone an HKSAR passport holder. Three situations are common, and they are treated differently:
The Dubai visa requirements for Hong Kong residents depend on the passport you hold, not on your Hong Kong ID card.
An expat in Hong Kong should look up the UAE rule for their own passport first. Some nationalities are visa-exempt, some get visa on arrival, and some need a pre-arranged visa. Do not use HKSAR rules or HKSAR prices. On our form, select your own nationality as citizenship and Hong Kong as your country of residence. The products, prices and documents shown follow your passport.
Foreign residents include people on employment, student or dependant status in Hong Kong. A Hong Kong residence status does not replace the passport requirements for the UAE. The six-month passport validity guidance applies to the passport you travel on. If you are unsure which category fits you, ask our support team before paying.
Visa-free entry costs nothing in UAE fees, and the consulate has described the on-arrival visit visa for HKSAR passports as free of charge. So paying for a visa only makes sense in particular cases:
Our Hong Kong page lists several e-visa products. Confirm with our support team that the product you choose is available for your passport and plans before you pay. For a plain-language overview of every category, read our guide to Dubai visa types.
Four terms are easy to mix up, and each is shown separately on every product card:
The 30-day visa is listed in single-entry and multiple-entry versions. Both show a 30-day stay and a 60-day visa validity. Single entry starts from $154 per person. Multiple entry starts from $450.
For one trip of up to 30 days, visa-free entry may already cover you, so single entry mainly suits travellers who want approval in hand before departure. Multiple entry matters if you plan to re-enter within the validity window. Both show an estimated three to four days of processing and an option to extend by up to 30 days, subject to approval.
The 60-day product is the one that goes beyond the visa-free period. The single-entry version starts from $421 per person. It shows a 60-day stay and an option to extend by up to two weeks. The multiple-entry version starts from $700 and is listed as not extendable. Estimated processing for both is three to four days.
The freelancer visa and the extension products follow different rules and are not covered here.
"Visit visa" and "tourist visa" are labels used for short-stay UAE visas. Travellers searching for a Hong Kong passport Dubai visa will see both terms used interchangeably. Compare stay, validity, entry type and price on each card instead of relying on the label.
Extensions come in two forms. One is the extension procedure run by GDRFA for a stay already under way, described above. The other is the extension products listed on our page, such as the 30-day and 60-day A2A extensions. Availability depends on the visa you hold and on approval. Read our guide to the Dubai visit visa extension procedure before planning a longer stay.
Requirements come from two places, and it helps to keep them apart.
Entry rules set by the UAE. A passport valid for at least six months, and a valid return ticket.
Application requirements set by Dubai E Visa Online. These apply only if you apply for a pre-arranged product. They are the items our Hong Kong application page lists:
These are service requirements for our form, not a government checklist. UAE immigration can ask for more.
Prepare these before opening the form:
Each applicant uses their own passport page and photograph, so families should prepare these for every person. Make sure no finger, paper or glare covers any detail. Type your name exactly as it appears in the passport. A Hong Kong ID card is not a substitute for the passport bio page.
A Dubai visa application from Hong Kong can be started from Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories or anywhere with an internet connection. If you are not sure you need one, check the visa-free rules above first. If you do, a Dubai visa application online Hong Kong is a document-upload process on our form. A simple overview is also available in our guide to Dubai visa in three easy steps.
Listed prices on our Hong Kong page are quoted in US dollars, per person, as "starting from" amounts. Our prices include UAE government charges plus our sponsorship service fee. The split between the two is not published for each product, so do not treat any figure here as a government fee. For general background, see our guide to Dubai visa fees.
The final amount depends on the product, single or multiple entry, your nationality and any processing option you select. A multiple-entry visa costs far more than a single-entry one of the same length. The 30-day multiple-entry visa lists at $450 against $154 for single entry. Pay for multiple entry only if you will really re-enter within the validity window.
Remember the baseline: if you hold an HKSAR passport and your trip stays within the visa-free period, entry may cost nothing in visa fees.
The USD prices below come from the visa cards on our Hong Kong page. AED amounts use the fixed AED 3.6725 per USD rate. Hong Kong dollar amounts are approximate conversions at about HKD 7.84 per USD, which may move slightly.
| Visa Type | Price (USD) | Price (AED) | Price (HKD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7-day short visa (single entry) | $125 | AED 459 | HKD 980 |
| 14-day business visa (single entry) | $138 | AED 507 | HKD 1,082 |
| 30-day visa (single entry) | $154 | AED 566 | HKD 1,207 |
| 30-day visa (multiple entry) | $450 | AED 1,653 | HKD 3,528 |
| 60-day visa (single entry) | $421 | AED 1,546 | HKD 3,301 |
| 60-day visa (multiple entry) | $700 | AED 2,571 | HKD 5,488 |
| 90-day leisure visa (single entry) | $850 | AED 3,122 | HKD 6,664 |
| 48-hour transit visa | $121 | AED 444 | HKD 949 |
| 96-hour transit visa | $137 | AED 503 | HKD 1,074 |
The prices shown above are approximate and may vary depending on the visa type, nationality, processing time, and other applicable factors. The final fee will be confirmed at the time of application.
Converted AED and HKD figures are for planning only. They are not official government fees. The USD price on the product card is the reference price.
This section applies only if you apply for a pre-arranged product. Visa-free entry has no application step. Processing times on our cards are estimates, not promises, and UAE immigration decides each application.
Unclear scans, details that do not match the passport and missing documents can slow an application. Allow a buffer before your flight.
If you have chosen a pre-arranged visa and your date is close, look at our express Dubai visa page. Express handling is a request for quicker processing. It is not a guarantee of approval, and timing and cost are confirmed on that page.
Before paying extra, compare the standard products. Several already list one to two days. And if you hold an HKSAR passport and your stay is within 30 days, you may not need a visa at all.
Once you submit the form, keep your application reference. You can follow progress on our Dubai visa status page. For a step-by-step explanation, read our guide on how to check Dubai visa status online. If the status has not changed after the estimated processing time, contact support with your reference and the passport name used on the application.
Rejections cannot always be prevented, and the decision belongs to UAE immigration. Commonly cited causes include passport details that do not match the form, unclear or incomplete uploads, passport validity below the minimum, and earlier immigration problems. We cannot confirm how often each occurs. Check every detail before you submit. For more background, read our guide to common reasons for Dubai visa rejection.
If you are unsure whether you need a pre-arranged visa at all, ask our support team before paying. When you are ready, start your application from the Hong Kong visa page.
