Can Ethiopians Work in Dubai on a Visit Visa?
No. A Dubai visit or tourist visa does not allow you to work in the UAE. To work in Dubai you need an employment visa sponsored by a UAE employer, who applies for your entry permit and residence visa. Be careful with offers of a "free work visa" that ask you to pay an agent in advance, and confirm that the employer and recruiter are licensed before you send money or documents. Dubai Visa Extension for Ethiopian Citizens
If you are already in Dubai on a visit visa, you can extend your stay instead of leaving the country. See the extension cards below for the current 30-day and 60-day options and their prices. The 90-day leisure visa cannot be extended. There are two main ways to extend.
Airport-to-Airport (A2A) Visa Change
You fly to a nearby country such as Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia and return on the same day. When you return, you are issued a new 30-day or 60-day visit visa.
Extension Inside the UAE
You can apply for a 30-day or 60-day extension without leaving the country. Submit your application 2-3 days before your current visa expires.

Overstaying Your Dubai Visa
If you stay in the UAE after your visa expires, you pay a daily fine when you leave, and repeated overstays can affect future visa applications. The fine is reported at AED 50 per day from 11 February 2026, with no grace period. [Verify the amount and the no-grace-period rule against ICP/GDRFA before publishing.] Check with UAE immigration before your visa ends, because the fine can depend on your visa type.
Dubai Visa for Ethiopian Citizens Living in South Africa
If you are an Ethiopian citizen living or working in South Africa, you can apply for a Dubai e-visa online without travelling to Ethiopia first.
