Important Update for DR Congo Passport Holders
On 5 June 2026, the UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced a suspension of all new visas, visit visas included, for nationals of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan. It took effect at 13:00 on 6 June 2026 as an Ebola precaution.
Uganda was removed from the list in late September 2026. The measures for the DR Congo remain in place, and the UAE says it will review them as risk assessments change.
In practical terms:
- DR Congo passport holders: new Dubai visas are not currently being issued. Please do not pay for an application until the suspension is lifted. Check the ICP website or our Dubai visa status page for updates.
- Republic of the Congo passport holders: the suspension, as announced, applies to DR Congo nationals and does not name Brazzaville passports.
- Any passport: UAE measures restrict entry for travellers who were in the DR Congo within the previous 21 days.

Applying for a Dubai Visa from Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire
Brazzaville, the capital, and Pointe-Noire, on the Atlantic coast, are the main cities applicants in the Republic of the Congo are likely to apply from. Because the process is online, you don't need to visit an office in either city. You need a scanned passport, a photo and your travel details.
Route planners show no direct Brazzaville–Dubai flight, so most itineraries connect through other hubs. Ask your airline whether a connection requires a transit visa if you would leave the airport, and confirm the rules for each stop.
Brazzaville sits directly across the river from Kinshasa, and many residents cross between the two cities. If you have been in Kinshasa or anywhere in the DR Congo within the past 21 days, UAE entry measures may stop you boarding. Wait out that period and confirm with your airline.
If you are in Kinshasa with a DR Congo passport, a Dubai visa application is not currently possible. Check back once the UAE lifts its suspension.
