14 Day Business Visa

Most Canadians planning a short holiday in Dubai do not need to buy a visa first. Current UAE entry lists and recent travel guides place Canada among the nationalities that receive a free 90-day entry stamp on arrival. This page starts there because it can save you money. If your plans don’t fit that route, you can apply for a Dubai visa online, and the rest of this guide shows who that actually helps.
Searches for a Dubai visa from Canada usually come from three kinds of traveller. Some are Canadian citizens checking whether anything is needed. Others are Canadian residents who hold a different passport. The rest have plans that go beyond a standard arrival stamp. We cover all three below.
For ordinary tourism, usually not. Recent guides and reports on the UAE’s published 90-day arrival list include Canada. Several sources say Canada moved from a 30-day to a 90-day arrival stay in 2024, alongside the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Plenty of older articles still repeat the 30-day figure, so check the date on anything you read.
Here is what the arrival route looks like in practice:
The arrival route is for visiting. It doesn’t cover longer stays, work, or situations where you’d like approval in hand before you buy flights. That gap is where a pre-arranged visa comes in.
At the border, the starting point is a valid Canadian passport. Airlines check documents before boarding, so ask yours for the minimum passport validity it applies. Our own application checklist asks for six months’ validity and four blank pages. That is a service checklist, not a statement of UAE law.
Tourist rules have also been updated several times in recent years. If you’ve read something that sounds dramatic, check current Dubai tourist visa rules and then verify the key points with ICP.
Free arrival entry is simple, but it doesn’t suit every trip. Canadian passport holders tend to look at a pre-arranged visa in these situations:
Queries like Canadian passport Dubai visa or Canadian passport holders Dubai visa often come from people unsure whether arrival entry applies to them. If your only passport is Canadian and you’re visiting for leisure, start with the free route. Our cards are an optional extra, not a requirement.
Residence is not citizenship. Someone living in Canada on a PR card, work permit or study permit still travels on their passport nationality. That passport decides which UAE entry rules apply, not their Canadian immigration status. Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal are home to many people in exactly this position.
The three phrases below sound similar, but they describe different people:
UAE policy summaries note that some nationalities may qualify for arrival entry if they hold a Canadian visa or residence permit, as is also true for the US, UK and EU. That depends on nationality and conditions, and stays can be shorter than 90 days. Check with ICP or your airline. If you don’t qualify, a pre-arranged visa is the route.
Dual citizens should plan around the passport they’ll present at the UAE border and use the same one throughout the application.
A pre-arranged application is built around the passport you travel on. You’ll need a clear copy of its photo page and a recent colour photo, plus travel details as the form asks. Our live checklist doesn’t list a Canadian PR card or permit as a required upload. Confirm on the application form whether any Canadian status document is requested, and don’t assume a PR card satisfies anything by itself.
These are the products currently shown on our Canada page. Two terms matter. “Stay” is how long you can remain after entering. “Validity” is the window in which the visa can be used. They are different numbers, and mixing them up causes plenty of confusion. For a wider overview, see our guide to Dubai visa types.
| Product | Entry | Stay | Validity | Extendable (per card) | Processing estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | Single | 7 days | 60 days | Yes | 1–2 days |
| 14 Day Business | Single | 14 days | 58 days | Up to 30 days | 1–2 days |
| 30 Day Single | Single | 30 days | 60 days | Up to 30 days | 3–4 days |
| 30 Day Multiple | Multiple | 30 days | 60 days | Up to 30 days | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Single | Single | 60 days | 60 days | Up to 2 weeks | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Multiple | Multiple | 60 days | 60 days | Not extendable | 3–4 days |
| 90 Day Leisure | Single | 90 days | 60 days | Not extendable | 1–2 days |
| 48 Hour Transit | Single | 48 hours | 30 days | Not extendable | 1–2 days |
| 96 Hour Transit | Single | 96 hours | 30 days | Not extendable | 4–5 days |
Extension eligibility is conditional. A card showing “extendable” doesn’t mean an extension will always be granted.
The 30-day cards come in single-entry and multiple-entry versions. Both show a 60-day validity window and an extension of up to 30 days where available. For one trip under 90 days, the free arrival stamp usually covers a Canadian citizen. The single-entry card makes more sense if you want approval before flying, or if you’re a resident whose passport doesn’t qualify for arrival entry. The multiple-entry card suits people planning several trips into the UAE within the window.
The 60-day single-entry card allows a 60-day stay and an extension of up to two weeks. The multiple-entry version has the same stay and isn’t extendable. The 90 Day Leisure card allows a 90-day stay on a single entry. For a Canadian citizen, that matches the reported arrival allowance, which is worth knowing before you pay. These longer cards matter most for residents whose passports don’t get arrival entry, or for anyone who wants pre-approval.
Not in any way that affects your planning. A Dubai tourist visa from Canada and a Dubai visit visa for Canadian citizens both describe short-stay entry for leisure or family visits. Our cards split them by purpose: “leisure” for holidays and family trips, “business” for meetings and conferences.
If you’re staying with relatives, our checklist mentions sharing their Emirates ID as accommodation details. A business entry does not give you the right to be employed in the UAE. Employment needs separate work authorisation.
This list comes from our live application checklist. These are service requirements, not a government rulebook.
Every traveller needs their own set. For a family, gather each passport before you start. Poor-quality scans are one of the quickest ways to slow an application down.
The table shows the prices on our live Canada cards. The USD figures are the card prices and have not been changed. The AED figures use the fixed dirham peg of 3.6725 per US dollar. The CAD figures use roughly 1.42 Canadian dollars per US dollar, the early October 2026 rate, and move daily.
| Visa Type | Price (USD) | Price (AED) | Price (CAD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | $125 | AED 459 | CAD 178 |
| 14 Day Business | $138 | AED 507 | CAD 196 |
| 30 Day Single | $154 | AED 566 | CAD 219 |
| 30 Day Multiple | $450 | AED 1,653 | CAD 639 |
| 60 Day Single | $421 | AED 1,546 | CAD 598 |
| 60 Day Multiple | $700 | AED 2,571 | CAD 994 |
| 90 Day Leisure | $850 | AED 3,122 | CAD 1,207 |
| 48 Hour Transit | $121 | AED 444 | CAD 172 |
| 96 Hour Transit | $137 | AED 503 | CAD 195 |
The prices shown above are approximate and may vary depending on the visa type, nationality, processing time, and other applicable factors. The final fee will be confirmed at the time of application.
Card prices are shown as “starting from.” Our site states that the price includes UAE government charges plus our sponsorship service fee. The cards don’t itemise the two, so treat them as one service price, not an official government fee. For a broader look at what drives pricing, read our guide to understanding Dubai visa fees.
People searching for Dubai visa cost from Canada usually want one number, but the right figure depends on the card and your passport. Anyone weighing the Dubai visa price for Canadian citizens should also compare it with free arrival entry. If you qualify for that route and your plans fit within it, the paid card buys you pre-approval and flexibility rather than access.
The estimates on the live cards are:
These are estimates, not promises. Complete documents and clear scans keep things moving, and incorrect details can slow or stop an application. If you’re renewing your Canadian passport, wait for the new one before applying, because the passport number on the application needs to match the document you’ll travel with.
Everything runs online, so your province doesn’t change the process. If your timeline is tight, such as a last-minute business trip, look at our express Dubai visa page for the faster options and what each involves. Speed depends on the product, your documents and UAE processing, so it isn’t guaranteed. If you qualify for free arrival entry, you probably won’t need express processing at all.
The steps below are the same whether you’re in Halifax or Victoria. Our guide to applying in three easy steps walks through the same flow.
Searches for Dubai visa application online Canada all lead to this one process. A Dubai visa application from Canada has no separate version for different cities or provinces.
Transit options exist, with 48-hour and 96-hour cards at $121 and $137. Whether you need one depends on your itinerary, airline, how long you’re in Dubai, and whether you leave the airport. A Canadian citizen who qualifies for arrival entry has another route out of the terminal, so a transit visa isn’t the only way to see the city on a long layover. Read our overview of Dubai transit visa laws, then confirm the details with your airline.
After applying, you can check your Dubai visa status online. Keep your confirmation details handy.
Small errors matter. A misspelled name, a wrong date of birth or a mistyped passport number can lead to a rejection. If you notice a mistake, contact support quickly through the contact page. Whether a correction is possible depends on how far the application has progressed.
Rejections can’t always be prevented, and we can’t promise approval. Reasons vary, including missing information and unclear documents. Our guide to common reasons for Dubai visa rejection covers the usual causes. If a rejection happens, ask support what the reason was and what your options are.
Extensions follow the same cautious rule. The cards show how much extension is possible, but approval isn’t automatic. Apply before your permitted stay ends, and check the current overstay rules at ICP.
A few practical points apply whether you’re flying out of Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary or a smaller airport:
If you’re a Canadian citizen on a standard holiday, the free arrival route may be all you need. If you hold another passport, want a longer or multiple-entry structure, or want approval before you fly, you can explore Dubai visa options and start your application.
