14 Day Business Visa
E-visa • Single Entry
Start with the official position. The UAE embassy’s page for Sweden lists Sweden among the EU states whose passport holders are exempt from a UAE entry visa. The stay is up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and the passport needs six months’ validity. For most Swedish tourists, that settles it: no paid visa is needed. If your situation is different, you can apply for a Dubai visa online, and this page explains who that suits and who can skip it.
Searches for a Dubai visa from Sweden come from three groups. Swedish citizens want to know what, if anything, to arrange. People living in Sweden on another country’s passport ask whether Swedish residence helps. A smaller group wants something the exemption doesn’t offer, such as a multiple-entry visa or approval before booking flights. We take each in turn.
Not for ordinary tourism, according to the UAE’s own embassy page for Sweden. It names Sweden among the exempt states, with these conditions:
Some commercial sites still describe a UAE visa as mandatory for Swedes. That conflicts with the UAE’s own page, so check where a claim comes from and when it was published. We also advise against relying on any claim, ours included, without confirming it on icp.gov.ae.
Count your days carefully. A 180-day window means a long stay earlier in the year can reduce what’s available later. If you’ve spent weeks in the UAE recently, work out your remaining days before booking.
The exemption covers visiting. It doesn’t cover work, residence, or a stay beyond the allowance. It also doesn’t give you approval before you buy flights. Those gaps are where a pre-arranged visa fits.
Two Sweden-specific points matter here.
Swedish temporary passports don’t qualify. The UAE embassy’s page says a provisional passport (provisoriskt pass) isn’t eligible for UAE travel. If you hold one, get a regular passport before booking.
A national ID card isn’t enough. Swedes use ID cards for some European travel, but Dubai is a passport trip. Airlines check documents at check-in, so ask yours what it requires.
The embassy page also gives general guidance that visitors should hold a passport valid for at least six months and a valid return ticket. Our own application checklist, covered below, asks for six months’ validity and four blank pages. That checklist is a service requirement, not UAE law. For recent tourist-rule changes, check current Dubai tourist visa rules and verify the key points with ICP.
The embassy page also says that, when we checked, the embassy in Stockholm doesn’t issue visas. There is no embassy route to fall back on.
The exemption suits most holidays, but a pre-arranged visa has its place:
Queries like Swedish passport Dubai visa or Swedish passport holders Dubai visa often come from people checking whether the exemption covers them. If Sweden is your only passport and this is a leisure trip within the allowance, you can start without paying anyone. Our cards are optional.
Living in Sweden doesn’t make you a Swedish citizen. Someone with a Swedish residence permit still travels on their own passport. That passport decides which UAE rules apply, not their Swedish status.
The phrases people search for describe different travellers:
Two facts help this group. First, the embassy’s exempt list names many EU states, so some EU citizens living in Sweden may find their own passport already qualifies. Second, some UAE concessions mention holders of EU residence permits, and a Swedish permit is EU-issued. The embassy page describes one such concession for Indian passport holders with EU residence permits, with a shorter stay. Whether any concession applies to you depends on your passport nationality and conditions, so check with ICP or your airline. If your passport isn’t eligible, a pre-arranged visa is the route.
Dual citizens should travel on the passport they applied with and show that same passport at the border.
A pre-arranged application is built around the passport you travel on. You’ll need a clear copy of its photo page, a recent colour photo and the travel details the form asks for. Our live checklist doesn’t list a Swedish residence permit as a required upload. Confirm on the application form whether any Swedish status document is requested.
These are the products on our live Sweden page. Two terms matter. “Stay” is how long you can remain after entering. “Validity” is the window in which the visa can be used. They are different numbers. For wider background, see Dubai visa types.
| Product | Entry | Stay | Validity | Extendable (per card) | Processing estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | Single | 7 days | 60 days | Yes | 1–2 days |
| 14 Day Business | Single | 14 days | 58 days | Up to 30 days | 1–2 days |
| 30 Day Single | Single | 30 days | 60 days | Up to 30 days | 3–4 days |
| 30 Day Multiple | Multiple | 30 days | 60 days | Up to 30 days | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Single | Single | 60 days | 60 days | Up to 2 weeks | 3–4 days |
| 60 Day Multiple | Multiple | 60 days | 60 days | Not extendable | 3–4 days |
| 90 Day Leisure | Single | 90 days | 60 days | Not extendable | 1–2 days |
| 48 Hour Transit | Single | 48 hours | 30 days | Not extendable | 1–2 days |
| 96 Hour Transit | Single | 96 hours | 30 days | Not extendable | 4–5 days |
“Extendable” is conditional. It doesn’t mean an extension will always be granted.
Labels overlap, and purpose matters more than the name. A Dubai tourist visa from Sweden and a Dubai visit visa for Swedish citizens both describe short-stay entry for leisure or family visits. Our cards separate “leisure” from “business.”
If you’re staying with relatives or friends in the UAE, our checklist mentions sharing their Emirates ID as accommodation details. A business entry isn’t permission to be employed. Employment needs separate work authorisation.
Both 30-day cards show a 60-day validity window and an extension of up to 30 days where available. The single-entry card suits one holiday. The multiple-entry card suits several trips within the window. For a Swedish citizen on one trip inside the exemption, these cards mainly add pre-approval.
The 60-day single-entry card allows a 60-day stay with an extension of up to two weeks. The multiple-entry version has the same stay and can’t be extended. The 90 Day Leisure card allows 90 days on one entry, which matches the exemption for Swedish citizens. These longer cards matter most to residents whose passports don’t qualify, and to anyone who wants approval before flying.
This list comes from our live application checklist. These are service requirements, not a government rulebook.
Each traveller needs their own set. Match your names to your passport exactly. If your name includes å, ä or ö and you aren’t sure how the form handles those letters, ask support before paying.
The table shows USD, AED and Swedish kronor (SEK). The USD figures are the live card prices and are unchanged. AED uses the fixed dirham peg of 3.6725 per US dollar. SEK uses roughly 10 kronor per US dollar, based on early October 2026 rates, and the krona rate moves daily.
| Visa Type | Price (USD) | Price (AED) | Price (SEK) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Day Short | $125 | AED 459 | SEK 1,250 |
| 14 Day Business | $138 | AED 507 | SEK 1,380 |
| 30 Day Single | $154 | AED 566 | SEK 1,540 |
| 30 Day Multiple | $450 | AED 1,653 | SEK 4,500 |
| 60 Day Single | $421 | AED 1,546 | SEK 4,210 |
| 60 Day Multiple | $700 | AED 2,571 | SEK 7,000 |
| 90 Day Leisure | $850 | AED 3,122 | SEK 8,500 |
| 48 Hour Transit | $121 | AED 444 | SEK 1,210 |
| 96 Hour Transit | $137 | AED 503 | SEK 1,370 |
The prices shown above are approximate and may vary depending on the visa type, nationality, processing time, and other applicable factors. The final fee will be confirmed at the time of application.
Card prices read “starting from.” Our site states that each price includes UAE government charges plus our sponsorship service fee. The cards don’t itemise the two, so treat each figure as one service price, not an official government fee. To see what moves the numbers, read about Dubai visa fees.
A search for Dubai visa cost from Sweden wants one number, but the right figure depends on the card and your passport. Anyone weighing the Dubai visa price for Swedish citizens against the exemption should be clear about what the money buys. If you qualify for visa-free entry and your trip fits inside it, a paid card buys pre-approval or flexibility, not access.
The live cards show these estimates:
These are estimates, not promises. Clear scans and complete documents help. Wrong details can slow or stop an application. If your passport is due for renewal, wait for the new one before applying, because the passport number on the application should match the one you’ll travel with.
The whole process runs online, so it doesn’t matter whether you’re in Stockholm or a small town in Norrland. If time is tight, look at our express Dubai visa page for the faster options and what each involves. Speed depends on the product, your documents and UAE processing, and it isn’t guaranteed. If you qualify for visa-free entry, express processing probably isn’t relevant to your trip.
The steps are the same from Malmö or Umeå. Our guide to applying in three easy steps covers the same flow.
Searches for Dubai visa application online Sweden all lead to one process. A Dubai visa application from Sweden has no separate version by county or city.
We offer 48-hour and 96-hour transit cards at $121 and $137. Whether you need one depends on your itinerary, airline, time in Dubai and whether you leave the airport. A Swedish citizen who qualifies for the exemption has another way out of the terminal, so a transit card isn’t the only option for a long layover. Read about Dubai transit visa laws, then confirm the details with your airline.
After applying, you can check your Dubai visa status online. Keep your confirmation details handy.
Small errors matter. A misspelt name, a wrong date of birth or a mistyped passport number can lead to rejection. If you spot a mistake, contact support quickly. Whether a correction is possible depends on how far the application has moved.
We can’t promise approval, and rejections can’t always be prevented. Reasons vary, including missing details and unclear documents. Our guide to common reasons for Dubai visa rejection covers the usual causes. If a rejection happens, ask support for the reason and your options.
Extensions follow the same cautious rule. The cards show how much extension is possible, but approval isn’t automatic. Apply before your permitted stay ends. Check current overstay rules at ICP, because older articles often quote outdated figures, and the embassy page itself warns that overstaying leads to fines.
A few practical points apply wherever you start your trip:
If you’re a Swedish citizen on a standard holiday, the exemption may be all you need. If you hold another passport, want a multiple-entry structure, or want approval before you fly, you can explore Dubai visa options and start your application.
