Why did the GDRFA start this service?

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) is the authority that manages the entry and exit of expatriates and citizens. To make the entry and exit procedures of the country easier and faster, and this also helps to ensure a smooth and transparent interaction between the GDRFA and the expatriate community.

The General Directorate has recently launched a new service for families arriving in Dubai. The airport counters are ready to welcome families and provide them with the finest possible experience. The service was launched as a result of positive comments and suggestions from the public.

The service is the first of its kind in the UAE to encourage many meetings with various stakeholders and instead of that, this will be available at Dubai International Airport. They will try to set up the service counters at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

How does it work?

The airport counters are prepared to receive families and give them the best experience possible. The counters are equipped with special furniture for children, toys, and books. The service is designed to provide comfort for families to help them spend time together after being separated for a long period. The service is available at the counters of the GDRFA in Terminals 1 and 2 at Dubai International Airport.

Moreover, this counter is manned by a team of dedicated staff who ensure that the families arriving at the airport can obtain all the required information and assistance. This special service is available to all families and those accompanying them, regardless of nationality, who are arriving in UAE, as well as those who are transiting through the UAE and will be leaving the country.

And also, on the arrival, the GDRFA staff and volunteers will be greeted and given a welcome pack and a family passport. The family passport is a document with all the information new arrivals need to stay in Dubai, such as contact details of GDRFA staff, the nearest supermarket, and the nearest health center.

How GDRFA Welcomes Families at the Airport

GDRFA's service is part of its efforts to provide exceptional service to Dubai's residents and visitors. The new service has been created in response to the needs of the growing number of families who arrive in Dubai at the Airport. The counters are designed to help families complete their Dubai residency formalities in the comfort of the air-conditioned lounge.

This is the new initiative launched by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in collaboration with Dubai Airports, in response to the high demand for a better experience at the airport. To provide a more convenient and comfortable experience, the GDRF has launched special counters at the airport to assist families with all their travel requirements. The new counters will be managed by GDRFA staff in cooperation with the staff from Dubai Airports.

What is the purpose of these counters?

All of the families that arrive in Dubai have a dedicated counter at the airport to welcome them and help them stay in UAE

The special counters will be set up at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The counters will be managed by a team of dedicated staff who will assist the families to ensure a smooth transition from the airport to their homes. The counters will open from 7 am to 11 pm.

These dedicated counters are dedicated to providing families who are arriving in Dubai with a special welcome that will help them to experience the services available to them. They will also have information on where to get information about schools, work permits, and other essential services.

In general, the counters will also be managed by staff from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, Dubai Police, and other government agencies and this will be overseen by a professional group of consultants. The staff will wear a special uniform and will be trained to help families know about their services and other issues.

They offer a special counter at the airport that families will be able to use for all their needs during their stay in Dubai with their families with children. The special counter includes special needs and they will be able to access a dedicated counter with a guide to assist them in their journey through the airport.
